When I help others, I feel a sense of pride; I feel that I have accomplished something worthwhile. My goal is to uplift the poor, reduce suffering, help the homeless, forgotten, and the vulnerable.
I worked directly with families in the community for nearly 22 years before I began my current work, which focuses on coordinating with fellow professionals to educate parents with effective strategies to raise their children.
She brings her extensive business experience to U-Turn To Hope, and is excited to help those in need. She believes her diverse background helps her understand the needs of families who are facing the challenges of everyday life.

Khinh “Ken” Yam was born in Battambang province in Cambodia. He received his B.S. from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and his Juris Doctor from William Howard Taft University. He has been practicing laws in Long Beach, California, USA, since 2005.
Chief Medical Advisory/Resources
He is board-certified in family medicine, and have practiced for 21 years. He considers his main mission in life to be helping others who need assistance. His dream is to make a difference and be a positive presence in the this world.
Ms. Prater has over 15 years of experience working with families across Los Angeles County by linking them with services relevant to the needs of their families. During Mrs. Prater 15 years of serviced she has spoken and worked on may different boards through out the Los Angeles County area.
It is important to me to spread the word about this worthy cause. I am grateful to have been fortunate in life, I am humbled at this opportunity to be able to give back. It is my desire to leave a legacy in this world, a footprint if you will. We here at UTH are committed to blessing these underserved children and families with the things we so often take for granted. I am passionate in this endeavor, and pray we make great strides along the way.
I firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of a democratic society and the first step to resolving so many issues we see in the world today.
